Welcome to a page that looks into a couple of the lives that make up our community. At livingWATERS we focus our ministry strategy on the two wings: of celebration & connection which we hope leads to community outreach .  We hope you find connection here with people that are very similar to you and very different.

Passage Romans 7:18-19: I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.

This is why I need to be ‘Refreshed by Grace,” DAILY!

I have been street educated…so. I hold a masters degree…so what again! I have extensive experience with teaching in rural, inner city, small town and suburban areas, elementary to college age students…so. I own a business…so. I have achieved in the arts professionally as a singer, dancer, choreographer and musician…so. I am well traveled…so. You would could use the term ‘Renaissance Man’ when you speak my name…and a big fat final SO WHAT! This is how I view most people seeing me.

All of my so called “achievements” mean nothing. These (treasures) if you will are earthly and will fade away as I will someday. I am most proud of being a noteworthy and credible son, brother, nephew, grandchild, boyfriend, friend, and co-worker. Developing relationships with all walks of life, as Christ did, this is paramount in my life. The Lord lives in me, so I may benefit others. Life is developing relationships, with Christ, in Christ, for Christ!

What is the most frightening thing about going to war? Leaving your family behind. In 2003, I was called to active duty to serve with the US Army in Iraq. When I got word that I was being deployed, I wondered would be there for my wife Jana, and 3 children. The answer was found in livingWATERS church; a community refreshed in grace.

The people of livingWaters provided for the physical needs of my family by practical activities such as mowing the lawn, plowing the driveway, cleaning the house, providing meals, and identifying people to call for emergencies. The community provided for the emotional needs of the family by gathering a group of women together to support Jana, Other adults stepped forward to spend valuable time with my children. The people of livingWaters provided for the spiritual needs of this family by committing each day of my absence to prayer for me and the family. livingWaters Church lived out the love of Jesus Christ, the leader of this community refreshed in grace.

Paul & Emily

We are continually invigorated by the example of Christ's love that we experience every time we are with the community of livingWATERS.

I became a part of livingWATERS four years ago to follow Pastor Scott into his new ministry. My first role in the community was helping out with the visual appearance of the Worship area of the Church. I became a part of a cell group and later began helping with the Youth Group, which is where I fell in love with my husband Paul. I have always felt that what made the Church of livingWATERS so special and unique is the way that they encourage all the members to be involved and make each person feel like an integral part of the Body of Christ.

At livingWATERS I have truly been able to experience the realness of being part of Christ’s body. Living Waters encourages and helps build up those who feel they are gifted in a certain area of ministry. Personally I have been blessed by the church and the community it provides. I have been able to serve the youth of the church, experience the blessing of adult baptism, met my beautiful wife, and be refreshed by an uplifting and encouraging message every Sunday morning.

Bobby Hill

Bobby has been a part of livingwaters since it began. An ordained pastor at age 21, he had been a church planter for years, mostly overseas. Bobby came to livingwaters with no expectations. Through years of ministry with many people, he was looking for real relationships ~ people walking together through life with Christ as the center.  In Bobby’s words; “Church is not the building or the programs… it is the people worshiping a great God”. He has been the leader of a Homefellowship group that has met since the first year of the church.  For Bobby, that is the strength of livingwaters… the relationships. Bobby has 5 adult children and 2 of his daughters also attend livingwaters – Havi & Esther.

Steve, Angie & Grace Johnson

Just over 3 years ago Grace Johnson was born to Steve and Angie. Angie was pregnant with Gracie when they first began attending livingwaters. One of Steve’s first observation about livingwaters; “It felt like organized chaos… in a good way.”  He liked that it’s not too polished or over-performed, rehearsed feel… it was real.  It was what the Johnson’s were looking for, an atmosphere that was genuine ~ “church in everyday language”. Coming out of youth ministry with Young Life, they were comfortable with the informal services where the congregation may shout out a response to Pastor Scott or where he may talk back to someone who makes a comment. Steve and Angie continue to attend livingwaters church because of the family feel as Steve puts it; “Good models of family life across the boards”.
